What I did was to re-install the Windows Media Player 11. I used a Mac and the Disk Utility to perform these steps (as I just ran into the issue): 1. Create a new directory on your desktop. Copy into that directory all of the files from the device/drive that shows up as “Fusion” when you plug the MP3 player in. Select the Fusion partition in the Disk Utility 3. Go to the erase tab at the top. Make sure MS-DOS (FAT) is selected 5.

Copy all of those files back. Eject the device. It worked like a charm for me.
