But when Mrs Clemson, 76, decided she wanted a change of scenery and organised a group trip to a rival hall the bingo chain didn't take it in good spirit. Instead, Mecca said she had broken membership rules and, despite playing at the same hall for more than 50 years, Mrs Clemson and her husband were no longer welcome there or in any of the 100 bingo halls they operate across the UK. 'It's ridiculous, but it has really upset me. I live opposite the Mecca and I have enjoyed going there for years and now I am barred.'
